Haikyu!!, Vol. 1 | Haruichi Furudate

In the first book of “Haikyuu“ the mood for the story is encouraging. The reason I say this is because the main character Hinata wants to win a volleyball match and be able to play in high school, so he encourages his teammates to do the best they can so they can get their first win.

An allusion in “Alice in Wonderland“, is “She smiles like Cheshire cat.“

TheMrsShaw While this is technically an allusion, I'm not sure if it works because the allusion is to the work itself. It's more self-referential than an allusion. Remember that an allusion is to ANOTHER work of art or something from pop culture. For instance, the title of William Faulkner's “The Sound and the Fury“ comes from William Shakespeare's Macbeth, in which he writes that life “is a tale/Told by an idiot/Full of sound and fury/Signifying nothing.“ 2y

The Grimrose Girls | Laura Pohl

In the book “The Grimerose Girls“ the word drowned is used to described a character death. On the other hand the word “climb“ is normally used describe that someone is working hard to make their was up something like a mountain, but in this text they use the word climb to say that someone is walking up a flight of stairs.
